Candidates

President

Ellie Davis - Bio not provided.

Jake Klauber - Hi, I am Jake Klauber, and I am campaigning for the SGA Presidency for the 2023-2024 term. I am currently finishing my second semester of my Biology Major. My educational goal is to get a PhD in Microbiology and my career goal is to start a major Biotech corporation specializing in senescence. I was homeschooled from 6th grade until I joined the Early College Degree Program. I have experience in SGA as the Vice President as well as being a member of PTK. I am running for the SGA Presidency to increase the number of activities on Campus including having two student dances a year.

Joaquin Perez-Duenas - Hello, my name is Joaquin Perez-Duenas. I am a business administration major. I am very involved in the student body, and I am very involved with different clubs. I love having fun and engaging in activities on campus which is why I have helped prepare many events around the school. I am currently running for president of the SGA because I have ideas that can benefit the students to be more involved in campus life. I also have plans to have better communication between different clubs. I believe that with better communication the different clubs on campus will be able to work more efficiently and coordinated for upcoming events. As for campus life I plan for parties, cultural and destress events throughout the year to give students a chance to have a bit of fun while also being on campus. I am very open to student opinions and plan to create a system for student suggestions. I hope I can be given a chance to lead, as I'm here to make a difference.

Vice-President

Rebecca Bergeron - My name is Rebecca Bergeron, and I am running for Vice-President of the SGA for the 2023-2024 school year. During my term, I will be in my second year of HCC in the Environmental Studies program. My end goal for education is to at least earn a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Shepard or the University of Maryland, possibly going to a master’s degree if my life permits. I intend to enter the Maryland Department of Natural Resources through the Conservation Core once I graduate with my bachelor’s. Before I was a college student, I was homeschooled starting in third grade through high school. I learned the importance of independent study. I’ve decided to join SGA because I love being involved with campus activities, and my goal is to give the student body a sense of belonging to their school. I hope to be an approachable presence who can accept and provide good ideas to make life on campus exciting, with a focus on outdoor campus betterment. I believe the key to a strong SGA is strong and open communication, and openly working through any problems that get in the way. I can’t wait to hopefully join everyone for a fun and successful 2023-2024 school year!

Treasurer

Esdras Matlys Fom Kamdem - Bio not provided.

Secretary

Ian Voorhees - As the successful group I’m sure we’ll become, we’ll need someone to take record and keep our data in a logical and reachable format. As someone who works with and has studied with appointments settlers for online business, I’m more than positive I can fulfill this role and keep our operations running with smooth efficiency. I await to work along side the other delegates to learn more about how operations at a college level work.

Senator

Devin Baker - I graduated from Williamsport High School, and am a Psychology major at HCC. I want to join the SGA to do more for my community and to be more involved.

Fiolu Divine Ayomide - I would love to join the Student Government Association (SGA) because it provides a unique opportunity to become more involved in campus life and make a positive impact on the college community. As a member of the SGA, I would have the ability to advocate for my fellow students, help plan campus events and activities, and work closely with college administrators to improve the overall college experience. By joining the SGA, I could develop valuable leadership skills, build my resume, and make lasting connections with my peers and faculty members. Additionally, serving as an SGA representative would be a great way to give back to my college and contribute to its ongoing success.

Wyatt Klauber - Hello, my name is Wyatt Klauber and I am campaigning for the SGA Senate for the 2023-2024 term. I am a part time enrolled at HCC, but will be entering the Early College Degree program in the Fall term. I am majoring in General Studies. I am currently taking flying lessons to get my private pilot’s license, and plan to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University after graduating from HCC. My career goal is to become a commercial airline pilot and fly international routes. Presently, I am looking forward to being a full-time college student and serving others in the SGA is a primary goal.
